The 2025 chilean table grape season has started with high expectations, due to the excellent quality of the fruit and favorable weather conditions in regions such as Atacama, Coquimbo and Valparaíso. This promising start points to strong performance in international markets.
According to statements given to PortalFrutícola by Rafael Rodríguez, president of Uvanova, this season began “with very good fruit, with good Brix levels, so we are very happy with the production”. Nicolás Damm, commercial manager of Exportadora RIOblanco, added: “We have production in the northern region and Aconcagua, and honestly, the fruit overall looks excellent, with very good quality and large sizes”.
Damm also mentioned that volumes are aligned with estimates: “It might even be a bit more. On top of that, we have good sizes and good fruit condition, so we are very confident as exporters that we have a great product”.
Regarding the season, Rodríguez commented: “I believe we are following historically average timelines, with noticeable differences between regions and ecozones. We had very favorable weather conditions for plant development in the spring (…) we are going to have more fruit than last year”.
The main varieties exported so far include Sweet Celebration, Arra 15, Cotton Candy, Candy Hearts, Magenta and Sweet Globe, with key markets being the United States, South Korea and Mexico.
As for pricing, Rodríguez noted they remain quite optimistic, “because so far, in the United States and Europe have been higher than two years ago and very similar to last year, which were very good returns.”
