Between what we say and what we do
UNITED CARGO S.A. (UCC), was born in 2010 as an initiative of two former executives of a shipping company and a group of pioneer exporters of the Chilean fruit activity, who sought to improve their conditions and alternatives of transportation services for their fruit to the different markets around the world.
In 2015, our offices in Peru were inaugurated, starting the company's international expansion plan. Since that date we have been working hand in hand with our customers in order to obtain the best rates and conditions for their different campaigns, becoming a strategic partner in their logistics. Currently, the Peru office continues to grow in market share, differentiating itself by its service and commitment.
In 2016 we opened our operations in Central America, the country chosen: Costa Rica. A wise choice, because there we not only found a very welcoming country and culture to continue developing UCC, but also highly trained people, exceptional partners and the greatest opportunities to project our growth in the region. At the end of 2021 we opened our offices in the United States. With this we take control of our cargo at destination, an experienced team in charge of ensuring the availability and competitiveness of the cargo and providing UCC with an extended vision of the business.
UCC Colombia opened its operations in January 2022 in the city of Medellín, downtown strategic refrigerated cargo nationwide. We have a highly specialized and with vast experience as support to the international expansion of the company in South America, which has chosen Colombia to strengthen the presence of UCC in the region, for its agricultural diversity, cultural charisma and its valuable people. Its growth projection in the foreign markets gives UCC the opportunity to strengthen its presence in the world.
United Cargo Company (UCC) was created in 2010 as a response to the needs of the Chilean market that sought to improve its conditions and alternatives in the transportation of perishable products.
The company was founded by Alberto Dale and Jorge Villagra, who, having extensive experience in the shipping business, saw the opportunity to partner with a group of pioneering exporters in the fruit activity and together find better alternatives for the maritime transportation of their cargo.
The year 2013 was very important for the development of the company, starting commercial activities in Peru and with the launching of the UCC digital platform.
In 2015 we continued to grow with the opening of our commercial offices in Peru; starting our international expansion plan.
At the end of 2015, we incorporated the land and documentary service in Chile.
In 2016 our commercial offices were inaugurated in Costa Rica with the incorporation of new local partners, consolidating our position as a very important alternative in the region.
In 2017 we expanded our range of services with the integration of cargo insurance management (policies and claims recovery) by ARM.
2020 starts UCC Vertical, our project area, to continue leading in innovation in the logistics industry using agile methodology.
Start of Operations as NVOCC in Costa Rica using our HBL and thus becoming the leading FFW in the region in refrigerated cargo
In 2021, our commercial offices were inaugurated in the United States, giving UCC an extended vision of the logistics business. From this moment on we take control of our cargo in the destination ports to ensure its availability and competitiveness in the different markets.
In 2022 we continue our expansion. Colombia receives UCC and in this way our service platform is consolidated in South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
In the coming years UCC plans to continue its solid growth in the global market, based on personalized service and reliability; supported by digital tools that add value to our service. We are committed to being an ally for your business and providing solutions that generate value over time.
